Lack of responsible law making
This story just gets my blood boiling. I’m blaming both Republicans and Democrats. Congress needs to act for the people of the United States and stop this mindlessly passing of bills to protect the party’s interests. The republicans in the House, angry over an unconstitutional Democratic move, forced everyone to vote, revote, and asked for a vote to….vote again. Does this seem like a waste of time to you? Ok now the Democrats seemingly treaded on the Constitution and changed the rules for how many amendments to a spending bill can be proposed and the how long each can be debated. Does this seem fair? Common sense tells you this limits representation for the people not only violating freedom of speech. What happened to checks and balances? Its when government starts to have a personal agenda that doesn’t coincide with the people who voted them in that our government is failing America.
This is one of the reasons why I have changed the direction if this blog again. I want to make known the idiocy that occurs in our government so we can vote to remove their jobs if they don’t want to listen to us. They do work for us America.
Apologizing for slavery
The Senate passed a resolution yesterday apologizing for the enslavement of African Americans ahead of the June 19th emancipation celebrations. It will head to the House for approval and then it will stand as a formal apology on behalf of the American people for the wrong doings of slavery in American history. I think the subject is of a great importance but I believe Congress has more important matters to attend to. This seems only to be a political stunt and it shouldn’t take a congressional resolution to apologize for slavery. I understand this is the first time Congress has made an official apology, but what does this really do? Congress has lost a lot of ground with the common American anyway so in reality how sincerely can this be perceived?
