Palm Pre- 9 more days
Anyone else as excited as I am for the Palm Pre to arrive? As a current Palm user, this is an oasis on the horizon. Seriously, Palm never was bad….but Windows Mobil? eh I wonder if the world will be camped out around the clock to get one? Consider this my official countdown. Once I get my mitts on this glorious contraption, I can throw up a review. Maybe…
How safe is studying abroad?
An American girl studying abroad in Jamaica was robbed and sexually assaulted on her walk to her host family’s home. The girl was dropped off at the airport in her pajamas and sent home while still having blood on her neck. To me, the program didn’t have enough oversight and they could have handled the situation more effectively. One question though: how safe are students who study in foreign countries? I mean, just because a student chooses to study abroad doesn’t give them more protection than an average citizen of that country. So I guess if at all possible, check out the crime stats to any possible location before choosing. Maybe more regulation would aid this problem, maybe not.
The bacon cake

Along with the likes of the bacon brownie, this takes the cake…literally. Let’s have a bacon cake birthday next year.
Introverts travel differently
I thought this was interesting. Never thought of it before, but introverts travel differently than extroverts. Most travel programs (TV) portray traveling as a time to meet new people as well as immerse yourself in a culture with a fellow travel group. The lesser talked about introvert would prefer it differently. Possibly travel alone or explore a foreign city quietly by themselves. They would more than likely skip the night life. Seems rather lonely doesn’t it? Not to the introvert.
A hugging wall

I would have to try this at least once. Anonymous hugging wall. Almost looks sci-fi.
Study suggests the obvious
Sometimes I think science (or some people in the field) waste time and money with nonsense studies that seem to be more common sense or in this case: who the heck cares. Study suggests that the store name on a prescription medicine bottle is larger than the instructions. The warning print is smaller yet. Really?
Brownie recipe with…Bacon?
Kind if intrigued to try this recipe while being simultaneously grossed out by the bacon. Don’t get me wrong, I love brownies…I love bacon. The two together? hm
Guantanamo?
….and the debate keeps looming, cyclical in nature, the ever so hotly debated Guantanamo prison saga. I for one, think it should stay. That is my opinion. I’m sure many disagree, but that reinforces the beginning of this post.

Cost of College
Just ran across a story with an interesting stat that 30% of seniors at for-profit are at least 40,000 dollars in debt. This would pertain to schools such as DeVry and the like. So one is forced to ask the question: How much is too much? or questions: Is it even worth it? WIll I make enough to pay them back in a resonable time? Since I’m a college student I can relate. I have accumulated my share of dept and it seems to just keep piling on and on and onnnn. I often wonder how I’m going to repay it all.
