Serotonin locust gangs
Interesting research has come out citing a link between the brain chemical serotonin and forming locustgangs. Malcolm Burrows states that giving the locust serotonin
transforms them within a couple of hours. The creature changes color and then searches out other locusts accumulating gangs of millions. This research is being regarded as a breakthrough in sorts as a way to stop the formation of these destructive gangs. Should we be messing with nature in this way? What is the purpose of these gangs? Changing the patterns of nature hasn’t proved beneficial in the past so we had better take a closer look at the reason these insects get together in the first place.
Skepticism over elected officials- Deficit
The economy has come to a halt, jobless claims are on the rise, companies are laying off, and businesses are packing up. The point is, we are in a recession. The government has taken tremendous efforts to thwart the financial crisis and keep banks afloat amid an already staggering budget deficit. The only thing worse is the deficit yet to come and our elected officials winging it to get our country back on track. No one knows how to fix this and know one knows for sure what will. “But ponder this: This country has never reckoned with deficits like these.”
Virus Alert Downandup/Conficker
Here we go again, another major Windows software security breach. This worm is spreading and spreading fast. Its unique with the fact that it spread by infecting your computer and a USB drive. Once it is on the USB drive it can be spread to other computers through the auto-run menu that comes up. Beware, do not click on the first option that says, “view files”. Yes, there will be two separate view files options. The first one is a disguise for the virus itself. Once click, it will install and infect the computer in use. One of the potential ways to prevent spread of this virus is to disable the auto-run feature. I love how we have to give up features of our pricey computers just to avoid a security flaw in Windows. Does this go for Vista too?
