North Korea out of touch

The North Korean threat cycle has been nothing new but their latest threat is their latest spectacle of showing just how out of touch this country truly is. The warning of wiping America off the map is nearly something to laugh at. They may have millions of soldiers ready to fight on command, but we have the technology and military might to crush any attempt. Well we used to, but I like to think we still do. Don’t encourage Obama to cut defense spending because you never know what my present itself for our country to overcome. The tensions rise as we trail one of their ships suspected of delivering illegal weapons in defiance of the latest useless U.N. resolution. The games need to stop and the world has to be firm against the North Korean propaganda machine.

Los Angeles out of money to test rapist DNA

This is absurd. Money in California as a whole is thrown away on the most wasteful projects, meanwhile the L.A. sheriff has put on hold the testing of rapists DNA. The one piece of evidence that can certainly link the perpetrator to the crime, rapists will have the luxury of committing their crimes without the worry of getting caught. That’s just brilliant Los Angeles. Relocate some of the wasteful spending and get these offenders off the streets.

Iran Protests Continue

Today the Iranian protests continue and new videos keep leaking out of the violent state crackdown. Sites like Twitter serve as an organizing/ communication hub for the Iranian protesters. You can follow some of the stories yourself… Remember, these are Tweets coming from people not only in Iran but around the world so its only as accurate as the people reporting. One I just read was disturbing and just goes to show how ruthless the regime in Iran is…

The week in Pictures

As one of my favorite segments from the BBC is the week in pictures. As it should, the Iranian protests have taken center stage. I give my support to a free Iran. Stand up and make your voice known. These people are doing a very courageous thing.

Iranian vote should be challenged

On the topic of politics, there is no doubt in my mind that the Iranian election was rigged. I have a gut feeling that many votes were silenced. The absurd attempts of a government crackdown on protests just proves my point. They don’t want people digging. They have limited cell phones, internet, and other means to keep people quiet. This doesn’t look suspicious at all. No.

An open letter- Petition

Sponsored by Glenn Beck, this letter was written by a grandmother in Arizona to our nation’s leadership. If you haven’t heard about it I would suggest reading it. The views expressed in this letter strike close to home with exactly how I feel and the path America is on. Its time to take back our government. Stop the wasteful spending. Stop making a mockery of our Constitution. I urge you by after reading this letter and if you agree, sign the petition. Currently there are 96,000 signatures and counting. Spread the word and maybe Washington will have no choice but to hear the American people.

If you missed it above, please sign the petition! Thousands of people have spoken.

Lack of responsible law making

This story just gets my blood boiling. I’m blaming both Republicans and Democrats. Congress needs to act for the people of the United States and stop this mindlessly passing of bills to protect the party’s interests. The republicans in the House, angry over an unconstitutional Democratic move, forced everyone to vote, revote, and asked for a vote to….vote again. Does this seem like a waste of time to you? Ok now the Democrats seemingly treaded on the Constitution and changed the rules for how many amendments to a spending bill can be proposed and the how long each can be debated. Does this seem fair? Common sense tells you this limits representation for the people not only violating freedom of speech. What happened to checks and balances? Its when government starts to have a personal agenda that doesn’t coincide with the people who voted them in that our government is failing America.

This is one of the reasons why I have changed the direction if this blog again. I want to make known the idiocy that occurs in our government so we can vote to remove their jobs if they don’t want to listen to us. They do work for us America.

Apologizing for slavery

The Senate passed a resolution yesterday apologizing for the enslavement of African Americans ahead of the June 19th emancipation celebrations. It will head to the House for approval and then it will stand as a formal apology on behalf of the American people for the wrong doings of slavery in American history. I think the subject is of a great importance but I believe Congress has more important matters to attend to. This seems only to be a political stunt and it shouldn’t take a congressional resolution to apologize for slavery. I understand this is the first time Congress has made an official apology, but what does this really do? Congress has lost a lot of ground with the common American anyway so in reality how sincerely can this be perceived?
